Tate brothers received seven of the 12 cars seized by DIICOT in the summer. The Britons have challenged the seizure measure to recover damages in a case in which they are charged with, among other things, human trafficking.
Because they could not produce documents for all the cars, five of them remained in the warehouse of the Romanian National Agency for the Administration of Unclaimed Assets. The court ordered the vehicles to be returned and the decision is final.
What’s important is that I’m getting my Lada back. I bought it from a former member of Nicolae Ceausescu’s Communist Party, who got the car in 1979 and sold it to me 4 years ago. I’ve loved it ever since. It’s a piece of Romanian history – said Tristan Tate to PRO TV
Two other cars belonging to associates of the Tate brothers remain in storage because they have not been claimed by anyone. The vehicles had been seized by DIICOT following raids in August this year.
In another Tate brothers’ case, 11 other luxury cars are seized. Tristan Tate is under judicial control and Andrew Tate is under house arrest – a measure he has challenged at the Bucharest court.
