Car production in Romania at record levels last year. 500,000 units mark exceeded for the first time

It is a whopping 21% increase in production compared to 2021

Car production in Romania broke historical levels last year, after the two car manufacturers, Dacia, and Ford, made 509.465 units. Dacia made 314,228 new cars and Ford 195,237.

It is the first time in history when car production in Romania exceeds 500,000 units per year, after it exceeded 400,000 units in the last four years (2021: 420,755 units; 2020: 438,107 units; 2019: 490,412 units; 2018: 476,769 units).

In December 2022, 35,930 cars were produced in Romania. Of these, Dacia plant in Mioveni produced 22,593 units and Ford Romania Otosan plant in Craiova produced 13,337 units.
