New car registration numbers increased in January 2023 by a third

In January 2023, 12,266 new cars were registered, 31.37% more compared to the same period in 2022, according to DRPCIV data.

23,260 second-hand cars were also registered for the first time in Romania, down 4.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Dacia, with 4,574 registered units, ranks first in the ranking of the best-selling brands locally in January 2023. It is followed by Renault with 1,223 units, Hyundai (765), Toyota (730), Volkswagen (626), Skoda (578), Ford (546), Mercedes (439), BMW (438), and Suzuki (378).
