CFR Călători has announced that the new train schedule for 2025 will come into effect as of December 15, 2024, and train tickets will be 4.6% more expensive, as they are updated with inflation.
Thus, a 3-hour pass for the Bucharest metropolitan area will cost 12.5 lei, 50 bani more, for 24 hours – 22 lei (21 lei previously), and for 72 hours – 63 lei (up from 60 lei). The 7-day pass will cost 131 lei, up from 125 lei, the 15-day pass 204 lei, up from 195 lei, while the 30-day pass will cost 272 lei instead of 260 lei.
The price of a train ride to the airport is also increasing. From December 15, 2025, the trip to “Henri Coandă” Otopeni Airport—Bucharest will cost 6 lei, compared to 5.5 lei today.
The fare for seat reservation will be 6 lei on InterCity trains, regardless of class, while on Regio and Interregio trains it will cost according to distance: between 1-60 km – 1.5 lei, 61-120 km – 2.5 lei, 121-250 km – 4 lei, 251-500 km – 4.5 lei, and over 500 km – 6 lei.
For sleeper coaches, the supplement for a single cabin will cost 235.50 lei, up from 225 lei at present, regardless of distance. The supplement for a bed in a two-seater cabin will be priced from December 15, 2024, at 125.5 lei (120 lei now), and in a three-seater cabin it will be 104.5 lei
On sleeper coaches, the fare for a bed in a four-seater cabin will increase to 81.5 lei (from 78 lei now), and in a six-seater cabin to 60.5 lei from 58 lei. Transportation of non-foldable bicycles will cost between 7.5 lei and 26 lei.
