Over 68,000 people died after getting infected with COVID-19 in Romania

From July 1, 2023, electronic certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 are no longer issued

A number of 68,233 people died after being infected with COVID-19, from a total of 3,407,485 recorded cases. Romania processed 13,903,394 RT-PCR tests and 13,74,542 rapid tests.

From the total number of deaths, a number of 3,425 people were killed by COVID-19, without having had other associated diseases, from the beginning of the pandemic until May 25, 2023.

On June 28, 2023, the National Committee for Emergency Situations ended the state of epidemiological and biological risk generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

After this moment, COVID dedicated hospitals and wards closed, and patients will be treated in any hospital, under isolation conditions. Also, as of this date, there are no more evaluation centers dedicated to COVID-19.
