Polish discount retailer Pepco has reached a major milestone in Romania. The company marked its 10th anniversary on the local market with the opening of its 500th store nationwide.
Pepco entered Romania in March 2015, launching its first shops in Bucharest, Ploiești, and Câmpina. By the end of that year, it operated 44 stores with around 450 employees. Today, Pepco has grown to 500 stores across more than 100 cities, employing nearly 4,000 people.
In 2024, Pepco Romania reported revenues of 2.9 billion lei (€574 million) and a net profit of 424 million lei (€83 million). These results mark a 13% increase in turnover and a 29% rise in net profit compared to 2023.
The company highlights its commitment to internal career development. More than 70% of Pepco store managers were promoted internally, while over 40% of head office positions were filled through internal mobility or by employees returning from leadership roles in stores.
