President Klaus Iohannis said, in a brief address after the Constitutional Court canceled presidential elections, that „Romania is and remains a safe, solid, pro-European country”.
”I will get involved, as until now, for Romania, for Romanians. Until the very last day, I will work for a democratic, free, modern, safe, secure, European Romania, a European Romania. Romania is a stable country, a safe country, and a solid country”, the President continued.
Iohannis added ”I say this for the economy, investors, financial markets. Romania is and remains a safe, solid, pro-European country. I say this for NATO. Romania remains a secure, solid ally. And I think it is essential for us all to know that Romania is not in difficulty”.
He addressed the actual situation and said that he would ”remain in office until a new President of Romania is elected. When the new President is sworn in, I’ll be out of here. And no, I will not be Prime Minister of Romania, I just want to bring this mandate to a good end”.
