At the end of 2023, Romania ranked fourth in the European Union by the largest share of people using the Chinese app TikTok, with 39% percent of the total population.
Our country is only surpassed in this ranking by Luxembourg (46% TikTok users out of the total population), Ireland (42% TikTok users out of the total population) and Spain (40% TikTok users out of the total population).
On the other end of the ranking, we have Slovakia (where only 17% of population use TikTok), the Czech Republic (19% of the population use TikTok), Slovenia, and Denmark (24% of the population in each country uses TikTok).
The analysis was carried out by The European Correspondent using public TikTok data presented in a report published at the end of last year. The app has more than 1.5 billion users globally.
