According to eSky data, Romanians booked their trips almost 40 days in advance and spent around 6 days abroad. City breaks frequency was double that of longer trips.
The first five positions in the ranking of the most popular destinations for Romanians in 2022 have not changed significantly, with Italy retaining the first place. Romanians went most often to Milan, Rome, Bologna, and Venice.
After Italy ranks Great Britain, which has kept its position since 2021. Romanians continue to fly most often to London, with Birmingham the second British city often visited by Romanians last year.
Germany is the next in this ranking is Germany, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Munich and Memmingem, being the destinations preferred by Romanians.

For European flights reservations were made, on average, about 32 days in advance – an increase of one week compared to 2021. As for intercontinental flights, the period went up 8 days to an average of 45 days prior to the flight.
In 2022, Romanians spent an average of around 6 days abroad when traveling in Europe and an average of 17 days when traveling outside the continent. The most frequent were trips of 2-3 days.
Airline ticket prices have increased by about 38% compared to 2021. For destinations in Europe the average price of a plane ticket increased by 27%. Intercontinental flights ticket prices increased by an average of 17%.
