A Ukrainian woman passed through the Siret Border Crossing Point in Northern Romania with 30,000 pounds, 60,000 euros and over 25,000 lei in her car. Later, she was spotted by the border police during a traffic control.
She was driving a Volkswagen, registered in Ukraine, and was stopped in traffic at approximately seven hundred meters from the border point. There were five other people in that vehicle.
The woman said that the money belonged to her, but she did not have proof of the customs control declaration.
All six persons, the Volkswagen and the amounts in lei or foreign currency were forwarded to the Siret Customs Office, to apply the necessary legal measures.
