A train traveling on the Arad-Bucharest Nord route crashed a freight train carrying Ford cars

According to ISU Teleorman, 12 people received medical care and four people were transported to the hospital

Four people were transported to the hospital on Monday morning after a train traveling on the Arad-Bucharest Nord route crashed a freight train traveling on the same line and derailed it.

The crash occurred at 3:54 AM this morning near the entrance to Rosiori train station. As a result of the crash, two carriages of the private freight train derailed and one overturned. It was loaded with cars and had Constanta Port as its destination.

Romanian state railroad company CFR confirmed that the driver of the passenger train involved in the accident exceeded the Stop sign and rammed the last wagon of the freight train in front.

The DB Schenker train was carrying Ford Puma cars from the Craiova plant and had traveled approximately 110 km. The passenger train IR 1822 had left Arad at 18:04 PM on Sunday, and had traveled 504 km.
