By the end of April 2024, 45,248 electric cars were registered in Romania, of which 4,962 were registered in the first four months of this year, according to the e-mobility Index by Lektri.Co.
The first month of the year saw a 60% increase in sales compared to January 2024, followed by a moderate rise in February 2024 of 17% compared to February 2023. In March 2024 there was a 25% decrease in registrations compared to March 2023, but April of the current year again brought an increase of 1.7% compared to the same month in 2023.
Dacia Spring remains at the top of the list by the number of units sold, with 1,490 vehicles registered in the first four months of the year (30% of all electric cars registered in 2024).
Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y are still in the second and third places in the top, and the Renault Megane E-Tech, which had 53 registrations, compared to 59 of the Model Y, is approaching the entry into the Top 3.
Overall, Dacia Spring remains the most popular electric car in Romania, with a total of 17,350 registrations, representing around 39% of the total electrified car fleet in the country.
