He reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to working closely on key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, customs, and business investment to bring Moldova closer to the European market.

He emphasized increasing Romanian business investments in Moldova, with shared projects in education, and a joint commission to reduce border wait times and modernize customs procedures, including the involvement of Moldovan officials.

Maia Sandu: Shared Vision, Shared Challenges

Maia Sandu welcomed Dan, underscoring the deep and vital ties between the countries. She praised the timing of the visit as symbolic and a promise for the future.

Sandu outlined concrete initiatives relying on Romanian cooperation for the expansion of electric power lines and secure gas networks, building bridges at Ungheni, Albița, Oancea, and railway modernization.

She noted shared regional challenges—the war in Ukraine, cyberattacks, and Russian disinformation – and said Moldova and Romania stand united against these threats. “A resilient Moldova means safety for families, peace along our borders with Ukraine and Romania,” Sandu affirmed.
