Romania is getting closer to 2 million homes insured against disasters, but 7.4 million families are still at risk of being left with nothing in the event of a major natural disaster.

PAID is a home insurance system covering damages up to 20,000 euros, caused by earthquakes, landslides and floods. An optional policy is required to insure goods, the total value of the home or other risks.

PAID has already paid compensation for 9 files out of a total of 644 registered until 27.02.2023, as a result of the 13 and 14 February, 2023 earthquakes in Gorj
