President Klaus Iohannis made 21 foreign trips last year at a cost of around 3,24 million euros

President Klaus Iohannis made 21 foreign trips last year, totaling expenses of over 16,6 million lei (around 3,24 million euros), according to data provided by the Presidency at the request of press agency Agerpres.

Foreign trips in Europe included Brussels, Paris, Riga, Vilnius, Madrid, Prague, Athens, and Tirana. Mr. Iohannis also went to New York and San Francisco for a UN meeting and to London for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

On internal policy, from the beginning of the year until December 15, President Iohannis submitted fourteen laws for re-examination to the Parliament and twelve notifications of unconstitutionality to the Constitutional Court.

Until December 15, 54 pardon applications were registered, but Iohannis did not approve pardon requests this year either, following a pattern from last years.
