Steaua Bucharest defeated CSM Oradea, 14-13, in the final of the Water Polo Romanian Cup, at the end of an extremely interesting match. It is the 14th trophy in the history of the club.

At the end of the game, Steaua’s coach, Bogdan Rath, who took over the team this summer, said for Steaua TV: “As all finals, there are periods of suffering and you must be ready to face them. The psychological factor matters a lot, we had very difficult moments, we missed two penalties, but the boys fought until the end“.

CSM Oradea and Steaua Bucharest also met in December, 2022, in the round of 16 of the LEN EuroCup men’s polo competition. Then, Oradea emerged victorious after a 10-6 in the second leg.

Steaua is undefeated in the current edition of the Romanian Water Polo Superliga, having recorded only wins.
