The increase in summer vacation bookings in Romania was 3.8% nationwide compared to the same period last year, according to BIBI Touring Touroperator data.
On the Black Sea coast, the bookings increase compared to summer 2023 was 8.5%, with an average stay of 4.7 nights. The average price per person for accommodation was 1,102 lei/stay, up 10% on last year. The most booked resorts for the summer months were Mamaia, Eforie Nord, Neptun-Olimp, and Costinești, accounting for over 60% of all bookings.
The average price per stay was 573 lei/person for the mountain area and 1,162 lei/person for the spa area, an increase of 6.5% compared to last year. Still, the stay length decreased from 4.4 nights in 2023 to 4.3 this year.
The most popular resorts for the mountain area were Sinaia, Predeal, and Poiana Brasov with 55% of all bookings. At the same time, for the spa area, tourists preferred Băile Felix, Călimănești-Căciulata, and Băile Herculane, with 68% of bookings for these destinations.
The Danube Delta saw the biggest bookings increase compared to last summer, up 12%, with an average stay of 3.4 nights. The average rate was 843 lei per person/stay, up 10% compared to last season. The most popular holiday destinations in the Deltă were Crișan, Sulina, Băltenii de Sus, and Sfântu Gheorghe with 63% of total bookings.
City-break vacations in Romania saw an 8% increase compared to summer 2023. Cluj Napoca, Constanța, Brașov, Alba Iulia, Bucharest, and Sighișoara are at the top of these bookings.
