Ukrainian chess Grandmaster Kirill Shevchenko to represent Romania

Ukrainian chess Grandmaster Kirill Shevchenko chose to play for Romania, announced the Romanian Chess Federation on Twitter.

Kirill Shevchenko, one of the youngest talents in the world, became a Grandmaster (GM) when he was only 14 years old. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain.

Born in 2002, Kirill Shevchenko is currently the 78th player in the world and in 2021 won the gold medal with the Ukrainian team at the European Team Chess Championship.
