Salary map and the top jobs with the highest salaries in the 1st quarter

The highest salaries in the first quarter were received by employees in Bucharest, where the average net salary was 5,500 lei per month across all sectors of activity and all levels of experience, according to Salario platdform data. 5,000 lei was the average salary in Cluj, the county with the second highest salary in Romania.

Next come Brasov with an average of 4,700 lei, Timis with 4,600 lei and Iasi with 4,400 lei. The lowest salaries were reported by employees in Giurgiu (3,520 lei), Vrancea (3,700 lei), Covasna (3,800 lei), Gorj (3,850 lei) and Tulcea (4,000 lei).

In a ranking of the best-paid jobs, the IT sector continues to top the list, with a net average of 7,500 lei per month. In second place is the oil and gas industry, with an average of 6,000 lei net per month, followed by Engineers – 5,400 lei, and Audit / Consultancy – 5,300 lei.

On the other hand, the lowest average salaries are found in sectors where most of the employees are newcomers. These include the textile industry (3,500 lei), beauty parlours and clinics (3,700 lei), retail trade (3,750 lei) or call centres / BPO (3,900 lei).
