Bronze for Romania after a brilliant performance in Lisbon at the Rugby Europe Championship 2025

Romania’s national rugby team won the bronze medals in the 2025 edition of the European Championships after beating Portugal 21-7 (18-0) in Lisbon. The Oaks took revenge after losing 34-6 to the Lusitanians at home, in the group stage of the competition.

For Romania scored Conache (penalty kick – 10′), Immelman (try – 18′), Conache (conversion – 18′), Conache (penalty kick – 22′), Boboc (try – 33′), Conache (penalty kick – 50′), and Portugal responded by Nuno Mascarenhas (try – 63′), and Manuel Vareiro (try – 63′).

Savin, Buruiană, Gajion, Immelman, Mah, Tweddle, Boboc, Mitu, Conache, Vaovasa, Sikuea, Gontineac, Graure, Tiqe, Simionescu were the 15 Romanian players sent on the field at the start by French coach David Gérard.

The Rugby Europe Men’s Championship is the main competition for National Teams in Europe. Eight teams competed in the 2025 edition, first in a two-group stage, then in the final tournament in Portugal. Georgia won the title after beating Spain in the big final, 46-28.
