Domeniile Ostrov Winery, Constanta county, which is in the top five wine companies in Romania, anticipates higher turnover this year thanks to a higher production of grapes.

For 2024, the company is targeting a production more than 10% higher than last year, after producing more than 10 million liters of wine in 2023. Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, and Czechia are the countries where the wine produced by Domeniile Ostrov is exported.

Half of the company’s wine production is marketed in bulk, including to other bottled wine producers in the country. Also, 50% of the wines produced by the company are reds and rosés and 50% are white wines | Oana Belu – CEO Domeniile Ostrov

The company’s wine brands include the premium Legio, Ritual, and Naiada, as well as Noe, Joc, Pelin de Ostrov or Art Folclor. All these wines are marketed in retail, horeca, and online.

The Ostrov vineyard covers an area of 1,200 hectares of wine grape vines, the largest in Dobrogea and one of the five largest in Romania in terms of surface area. Another 200 hectares are cultivated with table grapes of the Victoria and Italia varieties. On an adjacent area of about 200 hectares, the company has orchards of cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, kiwis, apples, pears, and quinces.

Headquartered on Romania’s border with Bulgaria, near the town of Silistra, on the banks of the Danube, Domeniile Ostrov ended 2023 with a turnover of around 50 million lei, up 10% in 2022.
