This summer, the Kálnoky Castle park in Micloșoara will once again host the Kálnoky Castle Concerts series, this time under the theme Cinematic Summer Open Air. Across three special evenings, the program will take audiences from contemporary film soundtracks to alternative pop and classic chanson.
The concerts will take place in the Renaissance castle courtyard, set among the Transylvanian hills just 40 km from Brașov. The setting is meant to work equally well for couples, groups of friends and families looking for a relaxed summer weekend with a more intimate atmosphere.
A castle setting
Guests will find a Monet-like pond, a wooden pavilion, an old-tree park and a fairytale-style hedge maze, creating a backdrop that feels more like a destination experience than a simple concert night. The organizers are pairing the music with a broader evening package. Each ticket includes the concert itself, an elegant buffet dinner and an afterparty under the stars
Three themed evenings
The first concert, City of Stars: London Grammar & La La Land, takes place on June 13, 2026 at 21:15. Pianist Szőcs Botond and violinist Gábor Előd will lead the performance, which mixes modern British alternative pop with the cinematic mood of the film La La Land.
The second evening, Vintage Voices: Edith Piaf & Frank Sinatra, is scheduled for July 17, 2026 at 21:10. With Szőcs Botond on piano and Gáspár Csaba on violin, the concert will revisit the golden age of chanson, swing and jazz.
The finale, Beyond Time: Interstellar & Gladiator, will be held on August 14, 2026 at 20:30. The closing event features Szőcs Botond, Gáspár Csaba and cellist Tóth Györbiró Apor, with a program built around Hans Zimmer’s monumental film scores.
More than a concert ticket
Tickets cost 250 lei per person and are already available online. That price includes the full evening experience, not just the performance. Accommodation is available at Count Kálnoky’s Guesthouses, where guests can extend the experience into a weekend stay. For all-inclusive bookings, Monday activities include traditional Székely crafts such as wood carving and furniture painting, adding a cultural layer to the getaway.
