Harry Ramsden’s, one of the UK’s best-known fish & chips brands, is entering the Romanian market and opening its first restaurant in Bucharest’s ParkLake Shopping Center. The debut site launches on Thursday, March 26, in the food court area on level 1, opposite the cinema.
The restaurant brings to Bucharest the brand’s signature dish: white fish in a crispy batter with thick-cut chips, prepared fresh on site. Guests can customise their plate with British favourites such as curry sauce or mushy peas, staying true to the nearly 100-year-old concept founded in 1928.
Launch day: 1 euro fish & chips for the first 50 customers
To mark the opening, the first 50 customers will be able to buy a portion of fish & chips for a special price of just 5 lei (1 euro), a move designed to introduce one of Britain’s most beloved comfort foods to Romanian consumers.
The entry into Romania is built on an exclusive development partnership with Horecagroup SRL, which will operate the local restaurants. Accelerated expansion in major shopping centres across the capital is set for 2027, and 2028 will bring roll-out to the largest cities in Romania.
