Record traffic of goods for Constanta Port in 2022, in the context of the war in Ukraine

In 2022 a total of 4,498 maritime ships arrived in Constanta compared to 3,985 in 2021. Also, there were 10,868 river ships arrivals compared to 10,619 in 2021 and a total goods volume of 75.550 million tons compared to 67.483 million tons the previous year.

The war in Ukraine generated an additional volume of cargo of 11,1 million tons from this country, in the vast majority grain.

According to Constanta Port Business Association (CPBA), the volume of 75,550 million tons of cargo traffic registered in 2022 through the Black Sea port is an increase of 11.85% compared to 2021.

Constanta Port operators have storage capacities in silos and warehouses of approximately 1.7 million tons of grain and operating rates between 20,000 – 75,000 tons/day. Thus, the total operating capacity of the port reaches around six million tons of grain per month.
