Romania’s national rugby team lost the last and fourth game at the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. Tonga won with a score of 45-24 (21-17), and the ”The Oaks” finished last in Group B with 0 points.
Boboc (min. 30) and Surugiu (min. 36) scored essays for Romania. Conache managed two conversions (in the 32nd and 37th minutes), also scoring from a penalty kick in the 19th minute after another penalty kick missed at the start of the game.
Romanian ended this World Cup campaign losing all games at very large score gaps, 8-82 against Ireland, 0-76 against South Africa, and 0-84 against Scotland, with a total score of 32 points for, 287 against.
”The Oaks” played in every Rugby World Cup since the inaugural tournament in 1987, missing only the 2019 edition, when it was expelled via points deduction for fielding ineligible players. They also lost all group-stage matches in the 1995 and 2011 editions.
