Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has officially entered the Romanian market with four fully electric models, ranging from mid-size SUVs and a fastback sedan to a premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), with prices starting at €43,990 including VAT.
Founded in 2014, XPENG delivered 429,445 vehicles globally in 2025, representing annual growth of 126%. Over the past decade, the company has evolved from an electric vehicle startup into a technology-focused mobility group built around what it describes as “Physical AI”, artificial intelligence capable of interacting with and responding to the physical world.
The company currently ranks among the world’s leading battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturers and has become one of China’s strongest EV exporters. In Europe, XPENG says its G9 is the best-selling large Chinese electric SUV in nine markets, while the G6 leads the mid-size Chinese electric SUV segment in five European countries.
Romanian operations will be managed through the joint venture established by AutoWallis and Salvador Caetano Group. Initially, XPENG vehicles will be available through dealerships in Bucharest, Brașov, Iași and Constanța, with network expansion planned for Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara.
XPENG G6: Mid-size SUV with ultra-fast charging
The G6 arrives as a mid-size electric SUV featuring an 800-volt architecture across all variants. The platform supports charging speeds of up to 451 kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 12 minutes under optimal conditions.
The vehicle uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology, a chemistry increasingly favored across the industry for its durability, safety characteristics and reduced reliance on critical raw materials.
Romanian pricing for the XPENG G6 is Standard Range, 480 km WLTP range, 248 hp – €43,990, Long Range, 535 km WLTP range, 292 hp – €49,490, and AWD Performance – €55,490.
XPENG G9 targets the premium SUV segment
The G9 represents XPENG’s flagship SUV offering in Europe. Positioned in the large premium electric SUV category, it incorporates the company’s most advanced driver-assistance technologies and digital cockpit systems.
Higher-specification versions feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.96-inch central infotainment display and an additional passenger-side screen. The cabin includes full leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers, and configurable ambient lighting.
Pricing starts at Standard Range RWD, 346 hp – €59,390, Long Range RWD, up to 585 km range – €62,890, and AWD Performance – €73,890.
XPENG P7+: Fastback sedan joins the lineup
The model combines a sporty exterior design with a comfort-focused cabin and features a panoramic glass roof covering 3.2 square metres. Driver-assistance and safety systems are powered by XPENG’s proprietary 40-core Turing processor, which processes data from 26 onboard sensors.

XPENG X9 Leads the Range
At the top of the lineup sits the XPENG X9, a luxury electric MPV stretching 5.3 metres in length and available in four-, five-, six- or seven-seat configurations. Pricing starts at €74,890 and go up to €89,390.
The model targets premium family and executive transport customers with features including a 21.4-inch fold-down entertainment display, a high-fidelity audio system, an integrated refrigerator and DC charging capability of up to 542 kW. Maximum driving range reaches 600 km.
