Most of the Romanians blame President Iohannis for the Schengen Area miss

Most of the Romanians questioned in a CURS survey claimed that President Klaus Iohannis is the main culprit for the fact that Romania did not enter the Schengen Area.

Thus, 23% of the respondents said that Klaus Iohannis is the main culprit in this instance, 12% blamed the entire political class, 9% the Government, 7% blamed the interests of private companies, the same numbers as Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă.

On the other hand, 47% of the respondents stated that this failure is caused more by external factors and 41% by internal factors.

When asked whether Romania should take measures against Austria’s economic interests in our country, 56% answered “YES” and 40% said ”NO”. Thus, 56% said blocking Romanian state purchases from Austrian companies is the main measure to be taken.

Also, 55% want tu reduce diplomatic relations with Austria and 44% need Romania to block Austria’s interests at the European institutions level.
