Rapid Bucharest, the Romanian champion at women’s handball, qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League, after defeating Krim Ljubljana, score 30-24 (12-8), in the return leg of the round of 16.
Polman 8 goals, Grozav 6, Kanor 5, for Rapid, respectively Rosiak 7, Dmitrieva 5, Radicevic 5, for Krim are the main goal-scorers of the game.
In the first leg, Krim won with a score of 29-24. Rapid Bucharest will clash in the quarter-finals with Vipers, last year Champions League trophy winner.
The other Romanian team playing in this competition, CSM Bucharest, is also qualified in the quarters, and will play with Team Esbjerg. The other games are FTC Budapest – Metz and Odense – Gyor.
On the other hand, SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea lost to the Danish team Nykobing Falster Handbold, score 38-29 (17-15), in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the European League.
