A violent fire broke out in the night from Monday to Tuesday at the Dacilor Farm cabin in Gura Vadului (Tohani), Prahova county. Six people died, and two are missing.
At the time the fire broke out, there were 26 people in the cabin, and 18 of them managed to self-evacuate. The flames completely engulfed the cabin, many people were trapped in the attic when the flames broke out. Later, the roof and attic collapsed.
Ferma Dacilor Cabin, in Gura Vadului, 90 kilometers from Bucharest had five rooms on the ground floor and six on the first floor, all being fully booked for Christmas.
According to local media, one of the deceased is the son of the cabin owner. The owner’s wife smelled smoke, she managed to save herself, a child, and her husband, but the second child died.
Emergency services deployed 10 water and foam extinguishing vehicles, 1 personal and multiple casualty transport vehicle, 4 SMURD ambulances, 4 first aid and command vehicles, and 3 SAJ ambulances.
